Accident at Bethany, Ontario

Summary

1997-03-13: The aircraft was flying on a south heading on final approach to a private grass strip. Prior to touchdown, the tail section struck a fence and the aircraft landed hard on the right main landing gear. The right landing gear subsequently failed and the aircraft ground looped to a stop just off the strip. The pilot reported the wind to be from the south at 10 knots, straight down the runway.
