Incident at TORONTO / LESTER B. PEARSON INTL ON (CYYZ)
Summary
1996-10-25: The aircraft was parked at terminal one, gate 53, and the flight crew were carrying out pre-flight ground checks with no passengers on board. Part of the ground check requires that all external lights such as navigation lights and ice lights be turned on to check for normal operation. While this was being done, a light near a door caused a small fire at the gate bridge shroud. ERS was dispatched. Little damaged occurred to the bridge and there was no reported damage to the aircraft. Airport Operations is advising carriers and a Hazard Notification is being submitted. Ops. Impact --unknown.
