Accident at Oppershausen, Germany

Summary

1996-05-08: The aircraft had just been donated to the Mission Aviation Fellowship and was being flown to Oppershausen. While en-route, the engine failed. The pilot was unable to restart the engine, so a gear-up, forced landing was carried out in a pasture short of the runway. One (1) S.O.B. -- no injuries. Aircraft damaged substantially. German authorities are investigating. From a T.S.B. initial notification.
