Incident at ST. CATHARINES / NIAGARA DISTRICT ON (CYSN)

Summary

1996-02-13: On a 3 mile final to runway 29, a bird strike occurred. The bird passed through the propeller on the right side of the spinner, impacted the air scooop and lodged in the engine cowling overlapping the upper cowling. Before landing, the bird feathers which were visible on the upper cowling dislodged. On landing, the exhaust pipe and clamp fell off onto the runway. Upon hearing the band of the pipe hitting the runway, the pilot requested a backtrack to retrieve the pieces which also included a broken exhaust pipe clamp. OPS impact--unknown
