Summary
1996-01-18: DC9 USA N920VJ A METAL PART WAS FOUND ON TXWY A SOUTH OF THE VISTA CARGO RAMP. THE PART WAS IDENTIFED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WAS A SECTION OF THE NOSEWHEEL TIRE RIM FROM N920VJ. THE A/C HAD DEPARTED AND ARRIVED IN BOSTON ENEVENTFULLY WHERE THE SECTION OF THE RIM WAS DISCOVERED MISSING. THE COMPANY IS SENDING THE FAILED RIM TO THEIR ENGINEERING LAB TO DETERMINE MODE OF FAILURE. FROM A TSB INITIAL NOTIFICATION. TIME = 2125Z.
