Incident at Little Grand Rapids, Manitoba

Summary

1996-01-18: The pilot of the wheel equipped single Otter landed on runway 36 at Little Grand Rapids. This was the culmination of a routine VFR flight which had originated at Lac Du Bonnet. A normal two point landing was accomplished by the pilot who had a sixty degree crosswind from the left at 15 gusting to 25 knots. As the tail wheel came in contact with the runway rudder authority was lost and the aircraft departed the landing area and came to a stop besides the runway. There was no damage. The pilot suspects the tail wheel was cocked to one side which may have caused the loss of control. The aircraft is now back in Lac Du Bonnet.Air1: C-GGONAir2: DHC-3 OTTERAir3: White Shell Air ServOccurrence: Aircraft IncidentClass: EECategory: 213
