Incident at SASKATOON / JOHN G. DIEFENBAKER INTL SK (CYXE) (Incursion - runway - pedestrian)
Summary
1997-10-21: A construction crew were asked to depart the runway work area to allow an aircraft to land at the Saskatoon Airport. A DC9 landed and the work crew returned to the work area without clearance. A Cessna 150 was on final approach and was instructed to overshoot. The Commissionaire in radio contact with ground control was unable to control the work crews. The Engineer in charge of work crews disputed ATC authority and standards.
