Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)
Summary
1997-09-12: During take-off from St. Theresa Point, Manitoba, the crew of the Metro II aircraft noticed reduced acceleration until the aircraft became airborne. The crew suspected a locked or dragging brake and requested CFR in Winnipeg to be on Standby. The aircraft landed without further incident and taxied off of the runway. Maintenance personnel found the right brake to be dragging. The brake unit was replaced and the aircraft was returned to service. The brake unit will be examined and a Service Difficulty Report will be forwarded to Transport Canada if applicable.
