Accident at Pikwitonei, MAN


1997-08-28: The Cessna 172N Skyhawk aircraft was landing at Pikwitonei, Manitoba, after a charter flight from Thompson, Manitoba. After the aircraft touched down on RWY 05, it was affected by strong crosswinds and departed the side of the runway near the end. The aircraft came to rest about 200 feet from the end of the ruwway and sustained damage to its wing and wingtips. Neither the pilot nor the passenger were injured. The aircraft was inspected by a maintenance engineer and ferried to Thompson for repairs.
