Accident at Craven, SASK


1997-08-19: The PA25 Pawnee was attempting a take off from a grass strip with 60 gallons of water on board. Shortly after the tail wheel left the runway surface, a gust of wind caused the pilot to lose directional control of the aircraft. The aircraft veered to the right, crossed a ditch breaking the right gear leg, and came to rest upright in a wheat field. The pilot was uninjured. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the gear, right wing and spray equipment.
