Incident at Churchill, MAN

Summary

1997-08-05: The DHC-2 Beaver aircraft departed from Farnsworth Lake, near Churchill, Manitoba, for a flight to Seal River. Shortly after take-off, the aircraft engine failed. The pilot attempted to return to Farnsworth Lake, but was forced to set down on the Churchill River, near the port. Initial reports are that the carburettor float was sticking, interrupting the fuel flow to the engine.
