Accident at Atikwa Lake, ONT
Summary
1997-07-31: The U.S. registered float equipped Cessna 172 aircraft was attempting to take off from Atikwa Lake, Ontario, approximately 30 miles east of Sioux Narrows. The pilot claimed that the aircraft encountered an air pocket, resulting in the rear portion of the floats striking the water hard. There were minor injuries to the passengers. The aircraft was substantially damaged.
