Accident at Ste Agathe, Manitoba

Summary

1994-06-30: The Schweizer G164B Ag-Cat aircraft was returning form a local agricultural spraying flight for landing at the owner's private airstrip. Just as the aircraft was about to touch down on the runway, a gust of wind caught the aircraft. The aircraft ballooned into the air. Then as the wind died, the aircraft touched down on the left main gear first, then the right main gear, and then the aircraft veered sharply to the left. The aircraft subsequently cartwheeled and overturned. The pilot, who was wearing a four point harness and helmet, exited the aircraft without injury; however, the aircraft was substantially damaged.
