Incident at WINNIPEG / JAMES ARMSTRONG RICHARDSON INTL MB (CYWG)

Summary

1997-04-10: An Air Canada McDonnell-Douglas DC-9 aircraft on takeoff from Winnipeg blew the left inboard main tire. The crew aborted the takeoff and stopped on the remaining runway. Runways 18/36 and 07/25 were closed until 2233Z. No aircraft were delayed, and there were no injuries. The Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
