Accident at FORT FRANCES MUNI ON (CYAG)

Summary

1997-03-17: The aircraft crashed on takeoff from the airport at Fort Frances, Ont. The aircraft lost directional control and ran across the field, through a drainage ditch, accross a runway, and another drainage ditch before coming to rest.One person suffered some injuries but all seven persons on board were taken to the hospital for examination. The aircraft, which was bound for God's River, MB, was extensively damaged. CTAISB is investigating, and advised that a bird had struck the left engine, causing a loss of power and a loss of directional control. One runway has been closed at Fort Frances.
