Incident at Missinipi, Sask.
Summary
1997-02-13: A Cessna 185F Skywagon seaplane, was departing on a charter passenger flight from Missinipi, Saskatchewan, to La Roque Lake, Saskatchewan, when the pilot heard a bang from the front of the aircraft. The pilot reported experiencing no abnormal vibration, oil loss, or engine indication, and he continuted on to his destination, and inspected the aircraft there. The propellor retaining circlips from two of the three blades of the propellor had departed the hub, and one circlip had punctured both the top and bottom skins of the right float. The propellor had been in service about 15 hours since overhaul. the operator will be submitting an SDR to Transport Canada.
