Incident at THUNDER BAY ON (CYQT)

Summary

1997-09-04: A Bearskin Lake Air Service Ltd. Beech A100 aircraft, was on a scheduled flight from Trout Lake to Thunder Bay, Ontario. On approach, the crew experienced difficulty in extending the landing gear. They used the emergency extension procedures and all three landing gears had extended, but a full down-and-locked indication had not been achieved. They conducted a tower fly-by and all three landing gears appeared to be fully extended. ERS was called to stand by; the aircraft landed without further incident. Maintenance personnel determined that gear teeth in the right main landing gear actuator failed. The operator has submitted a service difficulty report to Transport Canada.
