Incident at PORCUPINE PLAIN SK (CKD2)

Summary

1996-05-23: The aircraft, an Ercoupe 415C, departed Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan, on a local pleasure flight. Shortly after takeoff, as the aircraft was climbing through 200 feet above ground level, the engine lost power. The aircraft descended and the pilot carried out a forced landing in a field. After the aircraft touched down, the nose gear collapsed and the left wing struck the ground. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The pilot suspects that the engine lost power because the throttle cable broke.
