Incident at THUNDER BAY ON (CYQT)

Summary

1996-05-16: The pilot of a Canadian military CF-18 aircraft inbound to runway 07 at Thunder Bay reported a problem with the landing gear. ERS was placed on standby. At 1414Z the pilot declared an emergency and flew past the tower for a visual inspection. The landing gear appeared normal from the ground and the aircraft landed without further incident at 1458Z. One aircraft, Air Canada flight 662, a DC-9, was delayed for approximately 2 minutes.
