Incident at 20 NM E Broadview

1996-03-07: Firefly flight 252, a Fairchild SA227 Merlin IV aircraft, was 20 nautical miles east of Broadview, Saskatchewan, on a scheduled freight flight from Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Regina, Saskatchewan, when the right engine gradually began losing power. The crew shut down and secured the engine and proceeded to destination. The crew requested ERS to stand by for their arrival, and landed uneventfully. Maintenance engineers advise that a fuel line from the fuel flow transducer to the fuel flow divider had developed a fuel leak due to chafing against a bracket. The fuel line was replaced and the aircraft returned to service. The operator is preparing an SDR for transmittal to Transport Canada.
