Incident at THUNDER BAY ON (CYQT)

Summary

1996-02-27: The Piper PA-31-350, C-GNYP, departed Thunder Bay, Ontario, on a ferry flight to London, Ontario. Shortly after take- off, when the aircraft was two miles east of the departure airport, the pilot advised the terminal controller that the aircraft's cowling had come loose, and requested priority clearance back to Thunder Bay airport. The flight was cleared back as requested, and landed without further incident, with ERS standing by. The pilot was observed adjusting the cowling latches, and, after about 20 minutes, departed again for London and did not report any further difficulty.
