Incident at Saskatoon


1996-02-22: The Piper PA-24 Commanche aircraft, C-GGAG, departed Saskatoon/John G. Diefenbaker Airport. About five miles south of the airport, the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit and an unsafe landing gear indication. The pilot returned for landing using the manual lowering system. The smoke originated in the landing gear drive motor which malfunctioned.
