Incident at Thompson

Summary

1996-02-02: C404 was approaching Thompson, Manitoba on a scheduled flight from God's Narrows, Manitoba. When the pilot selected the landing gear down, the left main landing gear did not indicate that it was down and locked. Pilot executed a missed approach, and performed the aircraft's published emergency gear extension procedure. The left main gear still did not indicate down and locked and the pilot advised the tower. He requested ERS and landed without further incident. The pilot and 3 passengers were not injured. Maintenance found a broken wire from the 'gear down' microswitch to the gear indication light. The wire was repaired and the aircraft returned to service.
