Incident at 60mi SE of Sydney, NS

Summary

1997-11-05: Pilot advised ATC that the #1 engine had flamed out. He was able to restart the engine approximately 15 minutes later and landed safety at St. John's, Nfld. Maintenance found a frozen tank drain on the left hand fuel tank and further examination revealed water in the left tank. They suspect the flame out was caused by water ingestion. The aircraft was refuelled in Moncton, however no evidence of water was found in the refuelling truck. TSB case closed.
