Incident at St. John's, NFLD


1997-09-02: On departure from St. John's, the right gear did not retract. The crew cancelled IFR and returned to land without further incident. Maintenance bled the landing gear uplock jack (sister jack) and returned the aircraft to service. British Aerospace has issued a sevice bulletin (SB 233) to correct this reoccurrring problem. The operator is aware of the SB and is presently accomplishing it throughout their BA146 fleet.
