Incident at Moncton, NB

Summary

1997-08-05: Pilot encountered fog on a flight from Halifax to Moncton and was provided with vectors until he had airport in sight. He had intended to land at McEwen's airport but diverted to Moncton when he developed engine problems. Shortly after landing the pilot took off for McEwen's but on departure the engine "sputtered" so the pilot attempted landing on departure runway. The aircraft left the runway and came to rest in the infield. Pilot was able to taxi back to flying club.
