Accident at 9NM N MONCTON

Summary

1997-07-15: Pilot reported engine started running rough during training flight. Aircraft carried out forced landing. No injuries to instructor or student. TSB evaluating. From TSB initial notification - Pilot reported that engine RPM suddenly decreased to about 1600 RPM. Instructor tried to restore power by selecting carb heat, changing fuel selection and changing magneto selection. RPM decreased to about 1000 RPM when magneto selection changed. Aircraft was destroyed during forced landing.
