Incident at 40 W Saint John, NB


1997-05-09: Aircraft enroute Halifax from Ottawa. In descent pilot reported an electrical fire in cockpit and made emergency landing at Saint John, N.B. An evacuation was not required and after a check by emergency personnel the passengers were deplaned according to normal procedure. Maintenance determined that the heat/smoke source was a meal heater tray receptacle. The tray was disconnected and then the aircraft, with passengers, departed to Halifax. TSB case closed.
