Accident at Denny's Pond, NFLD

Summary

1997-04-10: During the approach, the aircraft suddenly lurched to the left and dropped heavily onto the water substantially damaging the floats and attaching structure. The pilot and passenger, who were uninjured, paddled the aircraft to shore. The pilot reported that the winds were calm and that the approach was flown at an altitude of about 400 feet AGL until the aircraft was over the pond.
