1996-02-28: THE FIRE WARNING SYSTEM FOR THE NUMBER THREE ENGINE ACTIVATED. THE CREW SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE, REQUESTED DESCENT TO FL240 AND CLEARANCE TO GOOSE BAY. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY. THE CREW DETERMINED THAT THE FIRE WARNING SYSTEM HAD GIVEN A FALSE INDICATION. TSB CASE CLOSED.
