Incident at GANDER

Summary

1996-01-15: SW4 METRO SPR602 C-GTMW HAD JUST DEPARTED GANDER ENROUTE TO DEER LAKE WHEN THE CREW REPORTED TO ATC THAT THE LEFT WING OVERHEAT LIGHT WAS ON INDICATING A POSSIBLE ENGINE BLEED AIR LEAK. A/C RETURNED TO GANDER AND REQUESTED ERS STANDBY. MAINTENANCE DETERMINED THAT A BROKEN WIRE ON THE LEFT WING OVERHEAT SENSOR WAS MAKING GROUND AND CAUSING THE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE.
