1993-09-03: DH8 ONT1233 & DC9 ACA175 - ONT1233 DEPARTED FROM RWY 24R AND WAS TURNED TO HEADING OF 290 DEGREES. A/C WAS THEN TURNED TO HEADING OF 240 TO PARALLEL DEPARTURE PATH OF ACA175(FROM RWY 24R), WHOSE CREW TOOK WIND DIRECTION OF 275 DEGREES AS THEIR HEADING VECTOR. ACA175 CAME WITHIN 2.5 MILES OF ONT1233 AT SAME ALTITUDE. DEPARTURE CONTROL CAUGHT THE INCIDENT. TIME = 2333Z. ACTION = PAX, PAE, TSB, IKO-PIA.
