Summary

1993-08-23: BE20 KING AIR VOYAGEUR AIRWYS C-GJJF - A/C WAS INBOUND IFR, ON APPROACH FOR RWY 29. A C172, C-FZZR FLYING VFR, WAS PROCEEDING TO SAULT STE MARIE, MI. TOWER CONTROLLER RESTRICTED C172 TO MAINTAIN 1500 FT OR BELOW WHILE IN SSM CONTROL ZONE. THE BE20 PILOT WAS INSTRUCTED TO MAINTAIN 2000 FT OF ABOVE UNTIL ADVISED BY TOWER. THE C172 PILOT ADVISED THAT THE BE20 WAS I9N VISUAL CONTACT. THE 2000 FT RESTRICTION ON THE BE20 WAS CANCELLED AT THAT TIME AND THE C172 PILOT WAS ADVISED TO ARRANGE FLIGHT PATH BEHIND BE20. TOWER DID NOT RECEIVE CONFIRMATION FROM C172 PILOT THAT THE C172 WOULD PASS BEHIND BE20. A/C PASSED CLOSE PROXIMITY. NIL OPS IMPACT. TIME = 2030Z. ACTION = PAR, PAH, PAE, TSB.
