Summary

1993-08-21: HMBD JACKWEIBE CAVALIER C-GBQR - A/C WAS ENROUTE TIMMINS TO MARATHON WHEN THE PILOT CALLED FSS TO REPORT UNSURE OF POSITION AND WOULD LIKE DF STEERS TO MARATHON. FSS WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE DUE TO WEAK SIGNAL COMING FROM THE A/C. FSS SUGGESTED FLIGHT BY TIME AND DISTANCE. PILOT AGREED BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL DUE TO UNRELIABLE BEARING READINGS (INTERFERENCE). PILOT REPORTED CROSSING PAVED HIGHWAY AND POWERLINE. FSS ASSISTED PILOT TO FLY TO NEARBY HEARST. A/C LANDED AT APPROX 2100Z, REFUELLED AND FILED A FLIGHT PLAN TO THUNDER BAY. ARRIVED WITHOUT INCIDENT PRESUMED. TIME = 2002Z. ACTION = PAP, PAR, PAE, TSB.
