Incident at BLUE RIDGE

Summary

1993-03-12: PA32 C-FAJD - DURING CRUISE FLIGHT (FROM BUTTONVILLE AIRPORT TO CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA, USA) IN IMC CONDITIONS, THE ENGINE LOST POWER. PILOT RECEIVED RADAR VECTORS & LANDED WITHOUT POWER AT THE BLUE RIDGE AIRPORT. MAINTENANCE FOUND EVIDENCE OF CONTAMINATED FUEL AS THE CAUSE FOR THE ENGINE POWER LOSS. SAMPLES OF THE CONTAMINATION WERE RETURNED TO CANADA BY THE OWNER & HAVE BEEN FORWARDED TO THE TSB LABORATORY FOR EMANINATION. TIME - 0500Z. ACTION - PAX PAH PAP PAE TSB.
