Incident at GERALDTON

Summary

1993-07-03: ROTOWAY HELICOPTER C-FNWF - WHILE ON A LOCAL FLIGHT FROM THE OWNER'S LOT, ENGINE DEVELOPED HIGH MANIFOLD PRESSURE WHICH RESULTED IN A DROP OF ENGINE & ROTOR RPM. PILOT BELIEVED THAT THE LANDING FIELD WAS UNATTAINABLE & ELECTED TO PUT THE A/C DOWN IN 3' OF WATER ABOUT 75' FROM SHORE. NO INJURIES. MAIN ROTOR BLADES WERE DAMAGED DURING THE LANDING & THE TAIL BOOM WAS DAMAGED WHEN THE /C WAS MOVED TO SHORE. TIME - 2300Z. ACTION - PAR PAH PAE TSB.
