Summary

1998-05-06: IL62 AIR UKRAINE UR-86582 - A/C PUSHED BACK FROM GATE & TOWBAR WAS DISCONNECTED. FLIGHT ENGINEER OPENED CABIN DOOR FORWARD OF THE WING & LOWERED THE COLLAPSIBLE LADDER. AS HE CLIMBED DOWN THE LADDER, IN AN EFFORT TO CHECK THE STRUT COMPRESSION OF THE TAIL GEAR, THE LADDER UNHOOKED & HE FELL TO THE GROUND, BREAKING HIS ANKLE. THE FLIGHT WAS RELEASED & CONTINUED WITHOUT THE FLIGHT ENGINEER. TIME - 2300Z. ACTION - PAX PAH TSB IKO-PIA
