Incident at TORONTO (ATM - NAVAIDS/radar)

Summary

1993-06-14: A320 CANADA 3000 CMM944 - A/C WAS ON A VISUAL APPROACH TO RWY 06R. A/C WAS ON A 30-40 DEGREE INTERCEPT HEADING AT FOUR MILES TO THE JULIET NDB. PRIOR TO THE A/C INTERCEPTING THE 06R LOCALIZER, IT TURNED LEFT & PARALLELED THE EXTENDED CENTERLINE. THE AUTOMATIC WAS DISENGAGED TO REGAIN THE CENTRELINE LOCALIZER. WHEN THE AUTOMATIC WAS RE-ENGAGED, THE SAME FALSE CAPTURE OCCURRED. WHEN THE A/C WAS ON AUTOMATIC, IT WOULD ONLY FLY BETWEEN THE 06L & 06R LOCALIZERS. TIME - 0030Z. ACTION - PAX PAD PAE PAT TSB IKO-PIA.
