CONTROLLER ADVISED ONLY TRAFFIC WAS AT 2:30 POSITION AT 2 MILES ON A PARALLEL COURSE. OVERSHOOT INSTRUCTION (RWY HEADING, CLIMB FROM 2600 FT TO 3000 FT) GIVEN AND FOLLOWED. APPROX 15 SECONDS LATER, DC9 AGAIN REPORTED TRAFFIC 800 FT BELOW. AGAIN, OVERSHOOT INSTRUCTIONS WERE GIVEN. C172 WAS ON JETS AT 1800 FT BUT APPROX 2.5 MILES SE OF DC9. OPS IMPACT - UNKNOWN.
