Incident at OTTAWA (ATS operating irregularity)

Summary

1998-03-06: DC9 ACA458 & DH8 ONT352 - ACA458 ENROUTE TORONTO TO OTTAWA WAS HANDED OFF TO COBDEN SECTOR AND CLEARED TO FL130 FROM FL240. THE STERLING SECTOR CONTROLLER FORGOT TO HANDOFF ONT352 (TORONTO ISLAND OT OTTAWA AT FL170). THE OTTAWA DATA CONTROLLER HAD PUT AN INCORRECT TIME ESTIMATE AT SHARB FOR ONT352 WHICH WAS THE REASON FOR DESCENDING ACA458 TO FL130. THE COBDEN CONTROLLER ASKED THE QUEBEC CITY CONTROLLER ABOUT A TARGET AT SHARB AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS ONT352. ACA458 WAS 5 MILES AHEAD OF ONT352 AT THIS TIME, CLEARING FL200. OPS IMPACT - NONE. TIME = 2145Z. ACTION = PAX, PAE, TSB.
