Summary

1998-03-06: HOT AIR BALLOONS C-FOEL & C-FMHF - 2 HOT AIR BALLOONS LANDED IN THE WEST END OF LONDON , OUTSIDE THE CONTROL ZONE OF THE AIRPORT. THE BALLOONS WERE APPARENTLY CAUGHT IN A THERMAL LAYER AND COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE CITY AREA. THE PILOTS ADVISED THEY HAD 0.5 HOUR OF FUEL REMAINING AND CHOSE TO LAND. THE LANDINGS WERE UNEVENTFUL. OPS IMPACT- NONE. TIME = 2105Z. ACTION = PAR, TSB.
