Summary

1998-03-05: The British Airways Boeing 747 aircraft (G-AUNC) encountered severe turbulence on approach to Philadelphia International Airport, PA (U.S.A.) (KPHL). The flight crew elected to break off the approach and diverted the aircraft to Toronto (LBPIA) (CYYZ). The aircraft landed at Toronto with 5,200 kg of fuel on board; the minimum allowable arrival fuel for the aircraft is 5,500 kg. Ops. impact -- unknown. O.P.I.: IKO-PIA.
