1998-02-18: MD80 AMERICAN AIRLINES - APPROX. 4 MILES AWAY FROM THE AIRPORT ON FINAL APPROACH TO RWY 06L, PILOT REPORTED A GEAR PROBLEM AND OVERSHOT THE RWY. PILOT REQUESTED ERS, WHICH STOOD BY FOR UNEVENTFUL LANDING AT 1522Z. PILOT STATED THAT HIS "CLOSE PROXIMITY LIGHT" WENT ON AT 1500 FT. OVERSHOOT INITIATED AT THAT TIME. OPS IMPACT - NONE. TIME = 1510Z. ACTION = PAX, PAH, TSB, IKO-PIA.
