1998-02-06: DC10 CDN11 & CV58 CONVAIR KFA9502 - CDN11 AIRSPEED & VSI DETERIORATED SUDDENLY ON CLIMB THRU 2500' THEN SUDDENLY INCREASED CAUSING PILOT TO OVERSHOOT ASSIGNED ALTITUDE OF 7000'. THE CONTROLLER TURNED THE A/C TO AVOID KFA9502 INBOUND TO YYZ. NO LOSS OF SEPARATION OCCURED. REASON FOR INSTRUMENT READING WAS DETERMINED TO BE AN INVERSION OVER TORONTO. TIME - 1600Z. ACTION - PAX PAH TSB IKO-PIA PAE.
