Summary

1998-02-06: FO1 AIRCOUPE C-FQPS - ENGINE STOPPED IN FLIGHT & PILOT FORCE LANDED ON A ROAD WHERE IT STRUCK A SIGN POST & GUARD RAIL & INCURRED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE BUT NO INJURIES. PILOT REPORTED THAT FUEL HAD BEEN STOLEN FROM THE A/C & THE FUEL CAP LEFT OFF. RAIN HAD ENTERED THE TANK & FROZEN. ALTHOUGH WATER WAS DRAINED FROM THE TANKS PRIOR TO FLIGHT, THE GASCOLATOR WAS 2/3 FULL OF WATER. TIME = 1945Z. ACTION = PAH TSB.
