Incident at SWIFT CURRENT

Summary

1997-12-17: B737 C-GCPV - WHILE IN CRUISE FLIGHT AT 35000', CREW ENCOUNTERED MODERATE AIR TURBULENCE AS THEY WERE MANOEUVRING AROUND CUMULONIMBUS BUILDUPS. SEAT BELT SIGN HAD BEEN TURNED ON APPROX. 40 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE OCCURRENCE TO SEAT THE PASSENGERS & PROVIDE A PRECAUTIONARY WARNING TO THE CABIN CREW. DURING ONE BOUT OF TURBULENCE, A FLIGHT ATTENDANT IN THE REAR GALLEY WAS THROWN AGAINST THE CEILING & COMPLAINED OF PAIN IN THE BACK OF HEAD. THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT WAS EXAMINED BY PARAMEDICS ON ARRIVAL IN VANCOUVER & THE COMPANY DOCTOR HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE OCCURRENCE. TIME - 0140Z. ACTION - NIL.
