Incident at ABRAM LAKE

Summary

1997-12-17: ML5 C-GWZM - A/C DEPARTED THE SOUTH END OF ABRAM LAKE FOR PELICAN LAKE. PILOT THOUGHT HE WAS LANDING ON PELICAN LAKE BUT WAS ACTUALLY LANDING ON ABRAM LAKE. PILOT STATED THE WATER BECAME GLASSY & THE WIND DIED DOWN. ON LANDING THE A/C SKIPPED OVER, THEN THE RIGHT FLOAT DUG IN FOLLOWED BY THE LEFT FLOAT. A/C FLIPPED OVER. PILOT SUFFERED ONLY MINOR INJURIES. A/C WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED. WX AT SIOUX LOOKOUT: YXL SP 1528 - X 21/2K 3411/K3. YXL SA 1600 - 21/2K 140/24/8/3612/994/K3.
