Incident at DRYDEN

Summary

1997-03-03: BE85 TRAVELAIR C-FKMZ - A/C WAS BACKTRACKING ALONG RWY TO BOTTOM OF RWY 29 WHEN THE WHEEL BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED. THE A/C ACCELERATED AND SLIPPED OFF THE END OF THE RWY AND STOPPED AT APPROX 50 FT OUT. THE NOSE GEAR AND STARBOARD MAIN GEAR ASSEMBLIES WERE BOTH DAMAGED FROM SIDE-LOADING THAT OCCURRED DURING THE RWY EXCURSION. THE PILOT WAS ONLY SOB AND WAS NOT INJURED.
