1997-03-03: BA46 BAE146 ABL773 - OUTSIDE OF CAPTAINS B-PANEL WINDOW CRACKED SHORTLY AFTER DEPARTURE FOR CALGARY. A/C RETURNED & LANDED SAFELY. CRACK ASSESSED AS BEING IN LIMITS & FLIGHT PROCEEDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MINIMUM EQUIPMENT LIST. MAINTENANCE DETERMINED THAT WINDOW LAYER HAD FAILED DUE TO FATIGUE, BUT CAUSE NOT READILY APPARENT. CHECK OF RECORDS REVEALED THAT THIS TYPE OF FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN A PROBLEM IN THE PAST. A SERVICE DIFFICULTY REPORT HAS BEEN SUBMITTED TO TRANSPORT CANADA. TIME = 1705Z.
