Incident at HALIFAX
Summary
1996-09-06: C172 CF-CNB ON DEPARTURE REPORTED FROZEN TRIM TABS AND RETURNED FOR LANDING ERS IN POSTION AND A/C LANDED SAFELY AT 2125Z. TIME = 2119Z. ACTION = MAB. UPDATE (94/01/12): MAINTENANCE FOUND THAT THE ELEVATOR TRIM TAB WAS ENVIRONMENTALLY FROZEN. EARLIER IN THE DAY A FLIGHT HAD BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE SAME CONDITION AND THE A/C HANGARED TO ALLOW THE TRIM TAB TO THAW OUT. AFTER THIS OCCURENCE THE AFFECTED PARTS WERE REMOVED LUBRICATED AND REINSTALLED. THE A/C THEN CHECKED SERVICABLE AND WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.
